About Me

I am a psychotherapist in private practice with over thirty years of counseling experience.  I received a BA in psychology from Southern Illinois University in 1977, graduating with University High Honors.  I  received an MA in Community Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in spring of 2001.  In October of 2001, I was certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as a National Certified Counselor.

Beginning in June of 1992, I worked as a volunteer counselor in the individual counseling program of The Counseling Center in Boulder, Colorado. There I provided counseling services to male and female adults of differing ages and backgrounds.  I also co-facilitated an on-going women’s therapy group with weekly supervision.  At The Counseling Center I received training in, used extensively, and trained others in the use of, a Client-Centered therapeutic approach.   Beginning in 1995, in my graduate studies and clinical training at UNC, I have integrated and used Reality Therapy in my work with clients. From 2014 to 2019 I worked as a volunteer with TRU Hospice facilitating grief groups and now incorporate that training and understanding into my work with my clients experiencing loss of any kind.
